NATIVE
PLANT & NATIVE TREE NURSERY - NELSON, TASMAN, GOLDEN BAY
Specialist suppliers of native trees and shrubs, including locally
rare species. Titoki Native Plant Nurseries has developed a strong
foothold in the Nelson, Golden Bay and Tasman districts, as a major
producer of quality New Zealand native trees and native plants.
For local Councils, Coast Care and the QEII National Trust, Titoki
grow NZ natives specifically for conservation purposes, working
with DOC & other interest groups, for native tree planting projects
in the Top of the South.
If it's a landscaping project, sustainable land development, or
planting in a subdivision, you'll find the largest range of native
plants and native trees in Nelson, Tasman & Golden Bay.
Titoki Nursery also grows a wide range of larger 'landscape grade'
native plants and native trees for garden centres, trade and public
requirements.
INVOLVEMENT IN REVEGETATION PROJECTS
Titoki Nursery has been involved with revegetation projects across
the top of the South Island for over twenty years, supplying native
plants for local Council projects, QE II National Trust, Project
Crimson, Department of Conservation, Coast Care groups, mining companies, land development
projects, farms and conservation minded public. Native trees and
rare plants are largely grown in containers called 'rootrainers'
designed especially for large scale production.
Titoki's emphasis on eco-sourcing (meaning that the plants used
in restoration projects are grown from seeds collected from old,
naturally established native plants), makes them a desirable partner
in the supply of New Zealand Natives for DOC Projects, and Charitable
Trusts.

ENVIRONMENTS WHERE OUR PLANTS ARE GROWN
Many of our plants have been used to establish or restore small
areas of native forest on rural land, sand dune systems and coastal
sites, and around wetlands in Golden Bay, Nelson & Tasman. Other
sites include scenic and recreation reserves, highway berms and
exotic forest firebreaks.
Working alongside DOC, Titoki produces native plants and trees
in a natural environment, conducive to attracting native birds which
assist by spreading the seeds.
